Bat Speed Program

The Process

Serious Baseball Players Only!
Grades 8 and Up

The players will be challenged day in and day out during this program. Baseball is a game of failure! If our training isn't hard or challenging enough then we aren't training correctly. The effects of overload and underload training have been tested and have shown to be reliable. Athletes will get 72 to 100 swings in per session. The bats that we use are 3 to 6 oz heavier than their game bats and 3 to 6 oz lighter than their game bats.  We will also incorporate a lot of constraint drills to help improve a hitter’s mechanics. Players will be tested on their exit velocity off the tee, front toss and on overhand BP by using HitTrax. This program was tested here at NLB and our athletes had Exit Velocity increases of 2mph-7mph. Gains aren't guaranteed in this program. They are earned with hard work and competing day in and day out.

What is Exit Velocity?

Exit Velocity measures how hard the baseball is hit off the bat.  The higher a players Exit Velocity is, the higher chance they have of getting a hit. They also have a lot better chance of getting extra base hits. Through this program we will train players to hit the ball harder by utilizing a variety of weighted bats.  For more information watch our short video
