Tom Nevers - Owner

  • Member of the 1989 Junior Olympic Gold Medal Baseball Team

  • Drafted in 1989 NHL draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins (100th overall pick)
  • Drafted in the 1st round (21st pick) by the Houston Astros in the 1990 Major League Baseball Draft
  • Signed a Professional Contract with the Houston Astros and spent 13 years in Professional Baseball
  • Played for the Houston Astros, Cincinnati Reds, Anaheim Angels, Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers
  • Went to College after 6 baseball seasons and was a member of the Minnesota Gophers Hockey Team (1995-1997)

Tom has been teaching baseball to kids since 2000 and since retiring in 2002 has accumulated a great staff and partnership with Gene Larkin to develop Nevers Larkin Baseball. He was named Head Coach of the Edina HS Baseball program in October of 2019. Tom is married to Stacy Nevers and they have 3 boys named Mason, Jackson, and Chase.

As a former Minnesota Twins switch-hitting first baseman, designated hitter, and right-fielder, Coach Gene Larkin brings his major league experience to help train the next generation of players. Gene has been the Edina Legion Head Baseball Coach since 2014 and has run camps in Plymouth with former teammate, Scott Leius.

David Robins - General Manager/Athletic Trainer

David graduated and played his High School baseball at Edina High School. He also played for Edina’s Legion team coached by Gene Larkin. After High School, David went on to play at Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) where he was named to the All-Region team in both 2015 and 2016. After graduating with his Associates in Business Marketing from Dakota County Tech, he played his final two years at Union University in Jackson, TN. During his senior season, he lead the Gulf South Conference in Doubles. Robins graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and began his coaching career with the Edina Legion baseball team.

Peter Macfarlane - Club Coordinator

Peter attended Moorhead High School and then went to the University of Minnesota for college. He has coached in Moorhead, Edina High School and Legion programs, and Concordia College. He has been with NLB since 2020 coaching spring, summer, and fall teams as well. Peter works in a wide variety of our programs including winter club, catchers camp, summer development, and helps with practices for our club teams.

Tom Quinlan

Hitting, Fielding

Tom is an alum of Hill-Murray High School where he was a two sport standout in hockey and baseball. Before ultimately deciding to play baseball, Quinlan was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 4th round, 79th overall in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. As a baseball player, Tom was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays and continued playing professionally for 16 seasons with Toronto, Philadelphia, and his hometown MN Twins. He earned a World Series ring with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992 and has been instructing and coaching baseball since 2007.

Brandon Dorshak

Camps, Lessons, Hitting, Fielding, and Club Teams

Brandon played two years of varsity Baseball and did one year of Olympic Weightlifting at Burnsville High School. Brandon also played two years with Burnsville Cobras Legion. In his Junior year, the team went to the American Legion World Series in North Carolina. After his high school career, he played at Dakota County Technical College for two years with coworker David Robins. Brandon currently plays townball for the Burnsville Bobcats during the summer. Dorshak has been used as a utility player throughout his baseball career because of his ability to play multiple positions. Some of his hobbies/interests include playing video games, professional wrestling, and sports analytics.

Brad Mazer

Hitting, Pitching, & Catching

Brad played high school baseball at Orono before moving on to Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN. In 2002 he was the MIAC Player of the year and an All-American as a catcher, and still holds the career records for home runs and doubles for the Gusties. After graduating from Gustavus, Brad won a Northern League Championship in 2004 with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. He earned both his Masters degree & Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Saint Thomas. Brad has been providing instruction since 2005. 

Andrew Luedtke

Club Teams, Catchers, Hitting and Fielding 

Andrew attended Edina High School and later University of St. Thomas (2015). He has been coaching with Edina Baseball Association since 2014 and currently is their Junior Legion Head Coach in the Summer and Edina High School Varsity Assistant in the Spring. He has been working with Nevers Larkin since 2021 coaching Fall/Spring Club teams as well as staffing the catching and senior club offseason programs. 

Nick Hetland

Lead Pitching Instructor

Nick Hetland is an Apple Valley Native who found his way through Junior College in Clarendon Texas, ending up in the SEC Ole Miss Rebels. Through injuries, transfers, All-Star games, being voted weekend starter, player of the week, and conference championships. His drive combined with the passion for the game of baseball continues to be the inspiration that provides young athletes the environment to learn, grow, and build confidence not only on the field but more importantly, off the field. Nick has the ability to facilitate an environment that tailors to each individual athletes learning style. Nick's vision is focused on providing players and families an unrivaled experience!

Darin Mastroianni


Camps and Lessons

Played college baseball at University of Southern Indiana, named First team All American as a second baseman and led collegiate baseball with 64 stolen bases in 2007.

Drafted by the Toronto BlueJays in the 16th round of the 2007 draft, two time MiLB All Star(2009 and 2010). Led professional baseball in stolen bases in 2010 with 70. 

Played professional baseball for 10 seasons from 2007-2016, made Major League Debut in 2011 with the Toronto BlueJays and played for the MInnesota Twins(2012-14, 2016) and Toronto BlueJays(2011 and 2014)

Matthew Enck

Camps and Teams

Matthew attended Edina High School where he played 2 years of varsity baseball and basketball. He was selected on the 2019 All State Baseball Team. He also played for Gene Larkin on Edina’s Legion team for 3 summers. After graduating from Edina High School in 2019, Matthew started as the shortstop for four years at the University of St. Thomas. He was able to play two years of DIII baseball and two years of D1 baseball during his time at St. Thomas. He earned All-MIAC Team and All-MIAC Defensive Team honors in 2021. Matthew graduated from St. Thomas in 2023 with a degree in Finance. Other baseball experience includes one summer playing for the Willmar Stingers in the Northwoods League and he currently plays townball for Air Freight Unlimited in the summer. 

Andrew Enck

Camps and Teams

Andrew grew up playing youth baseball in Edina on teams coached by Tom Nevers. In high school, Andrew was on the Edina Varsity team for two years and played on Gene Larkin's Edina Legion team for 3 years. Andrew graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2023 where he was involved with the baseball program for four years. He now spends his summers playing Minnesota townball and as a head coach in the Edina Baseball Association. 

Adam Ross

Camps and Teams

Adam graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in 1992, where he lettered in Soccer and Baseball. He went on to attend the University of South Dakota, where he was a four-year starter on the baseball team, after walking on and redshirting his first year. He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He spent summers playing amateur/town ball in the Minneapolis based Park National League from 1993-2007. He has been a head coach in the Edina Baseball Association from 2019-2023.
