HitTrax League

NLB is excited to announce that we will be having our first season of our HitTrax League. We are currently accepting team registrations through January 4th.

Team registrations will be considered on a first come first serve basis if an age group reaches capacity. We encourage signing up earlier than later if possible.

What is a HitTrax League?

NLB's HitTrax league will consist of four or five player teams. Players are responsible for forming their own teams of whoever they would like to play with. Games will be played at NLB in our HitTrax tunnel with BP thrown from a coach. The HitTrax system will have teams inputted and run the game. Players will be able to see not only if their batted ball is a hit or an out but also where it was hit, how hard (exit velocity), and the launch angle it was hit at. The HitTrax machine is able to run an age appropriate defense out and we have access to all MLB ballparks, many college facilities, and other fields for the game to "be played on".

What do the players need to do to sign up?

Players will need to...

-Form a team with their friends consisting of four or five players. You can pick summer team friends, people you have met at NLB, people from outside the organization, or a combination of all three.

-Come up with a team name that will be posted on the website.

-Register and answer all questions regarding scheduling as best they can.

Schedule

We are planning to have most games on Sundays in the early to late afternoon window. However, we are asking people to answer a question at the time of registration regarding their availability. We will do our best to accommodate schedules and any requests. Games may be played Fridays/Saturdays with select "Game of the week" games taking place during the weeknight evening around players winter training schedules. Once again the idea is for the majority of games to take place on Sundays. The game play will be a doubleheader (7 innings) consisting of a total of 75 minutes. Both games should be finished during that timeframe. If not finished we will go tournament rules and no new inning after the 70 minute mark.

The schedule will run from January 11th-March 1st. There will be a total of 12 games (six doubleheaders) spread out over the eight weeks. If your child's team finishes in the top two of the regular season standings for their age group they will play a single nine inning championship game the first weekend in March to determine the champion.

Age Groups

We are hoping to get enough teams to have leagues of 4+ teams. In order to do this we will have age groups combined. For example the oldest league will be a 16u+ league most likely. We are planning to combine multiple age groups such as 14-15u, 12-13u, etc. No matter what the age groups settle in at players will hit against a defense set to their age to level the playing field.

What will be posted on the NLB Website?

Players rosters will be posted on the website with schedules, and standings. It will look very similar to a fall ball team page. We will also post past champions both on the website and with a facility trophy.

Is there a prize for winning?

Players will get their team name and individual names posted on the website and trophy as well as a custom championship hoodie or shirt. Teams will be able to design what they want on their championship apparel.

Cost

Each team pays $600 for their entry fee. If your child is on a four person team please select "4-player team" at checkout ($150). If they are on a five person team please select "5-player team" at checkout ($120).
